The H2 & FC EXPO is the world’s largest exhibition, attracting attention as a venue where experts from around the world come to see technologies and products related to hydrogen, aiming for the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Developed based on Honda’s main SUV, the “CR-V,” it is the first vehicle from a domestic manufacturer to adopt a plug-in system that can also be charged from household power sources. It is said that it can travel more than 60 kilometers on a single charge.
The spread of FCVs has been hindered by the scarcity of hydrogen refueling facilities and the high price of the vehicles. Honda launched the sedan-type “Clarity” in 2016 but ended production in 2021 due to sluggish sales. The new model aims to expand the market by increasing convenience with a plug-in system.
